20th June 2008 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Estuary Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 30-35 knots Surf / Sea State: Choppy Air Temperature: 15ºC Sea Temperature: 15ºC Weather: Sunny spells Max Speed: Distance Covered: Decided to sail from the estuary with the plan of heading over to Aberdovey and then out to the bar. Started off with a 4.5m as did Steve but that was too much so we came in and changed down to 4m sails. Back on the water and it was better but still very gusty. I was now a little under powered at times so came in and let off some downhaul but the gusty conditions made it hard work, especially with such a small, twitchy sail. It was OK but not great. Dave, Sarah, Stevebus and Chris joined us but no-one seemed to have a particularly enjoyable sail. Maybe a session on the seafront in more consistent winds would have been better. |
